Hilton Leicester

The hotel looks impressive but inside is in need of some love and paint. Plenty of parking at £7 24 hours. Reception check in friendly and professional. Room was large, beds comfy, hair dryer, iron, tea coffee. Shower over deep bath. But room and hotel could do with refurbishment as carpets marked, furniture dated rooms tired looking. Nothing in walking distance. But restaurants and takeaway five mins drive Breakfast buffet plenty of choice hot and cold, staff friendly and helpful.

Room hasn’t been serviced still had dirty bedding. Same for other guests on the same floor. Moved to another room, stains on carpet, old decor, just scruffy. Pool small and very basic, have to book in advance as slots get filled up quickly. Bar incredibly expensive, food looked mediocre. All in all not at all the quality expected of a Hilton. In fact a disgrace to the Hilton Name. Staff friendly enough.

I booked and paid for a room through a third-party website. When I went to check-in into my room at around 1 am, I was informed they had an issue with rooms and therefore had nothing available for me! They said they couldn't contact me earlier because they weren't given my contact details apart from my name. I was offered a room in another hotel 20 minutes away! I refused the offer and stated that I have a booking confirmation and my room has to be available. The on-duty person asked me to have a seat while they discussed it with their manager. After a few minutes wait they managed to come up with a room and apologised for any inconvenience caused! They also waived a £7 parking fee to park on their premises! I have paid to stay there and have to pay for parking. They gave me a complimentary breakfast to appease me. This has left me with a negative experience and I doubt if I will be encouraged to use this establishment again. Check your booking before arrival if you are staying at this hotel.
