Hilton London Metropole

One of the lifts struggled to close. In 14th floor no signage to lift or others rooms (that was obvious) Basic room, bed was firm and nice pillows. but does have WiFi, noticed damp above shower. Very noisy hotel and the glazing isn’t thick enough as all I heard was sirens towards st Mary’s all night (which is understandable). App has check in but still needed to go to desk. Bar was nice and coffee shop had nice food and drinks.

Location was great. That's about the only great thing. Says 4 star, it's 3 at best, and charges an arm and a leg for everything. Want to buy a drink inside the hotel? Paying double what you'd pay across the street. Asked for THREE DAYS to get a spare duvet, kept getting told "we have no extra". You are lying, you are a HOTEL, your specialty is bedding. Finally had to have it out with a manager to get one. Rooms aren't special, whole hall smelled like noodles. Elevators run down. Our entrance wasn't even open, had to go to the main. Service was poor...

Seriously flawed and dated. Stayed for business, £200 for one night. The hotel bar was £10 a pint and the music was jarring. The lift had the emergency alarm sounding and the doors didn’t even close on one occasion, we just stood in the lift while the doors were open/close/open/close. My room had a light flickering over the bed like some horror movie. The sink was blocked, plug wouldn’t open, so that just filled with scum. The iron leaked water all over my shirt, the wooden trim on the desk fell off; the TV was non-responsive, it was a total joke. Told the front desk in the morning and they just made a note of it for maintenance, no apology! Dinner in the restaurant .. well i didn’t bother, given the cost of a burger!! Do yourself a favour, stay somewhere else, this hotel needs a total refurb or just pull it down and start again for goodness sake. Hilton, you can do better than this.
