Hilton Mainz

This is a very late review, but it’s one we couldn’t skip. We had such an amazing New Year’s thanks to Adil and Patrick. They truly went above and beyond to make the night feel special. Adil even captured a beautiful video of my partner and me with the fireworks in the background ( obviously wont be posting that but heres a clip of the fireworks from the riverbank)—it’s a moment we’ll always cherish. Both of them were incredibly kind, thoughtful, and just genuinely wonderful people. We’re still so grateful for how they helped make it such a memorable night.

In regards to several posts here about negative restaurant service at Hilton Mainz: I stay at this property frequently. Have been for the 8 years I have been in Germany (there are many US military bases here, and, yes, I am an American). I have used the Hilton Mainz dining facilities, one way or another, every day that I have stayed. I have NEVER experienced the issues these negative posters have. NEVER. I stayed there this last weekend. I purposely sat on that same referenced patio and timed the services provided by the wait staff (I owned a large restaurant in Seattle so I do understand restaurant service). I was asked what I wanted to drink within 2 minutes of being seated. The wine arrived 5 to 6 minutes after exactly as I ordered. The patio was full that day. Every table occupied. Then I timed the wait staff responses watching the various tables near me. My professional eye. Initial wait staff greeted the table 1 to 2 minutes after seating. Drinks arrived 5 to 10 minutes. Food, if ordered, 15 to 20 minutes. Standard. Good food takes TIME to prepare (if you are in that much of a hurry, there are "fast" food McDonalds, BurgerKing and Dunkin' within a 10 minute walk). If you were upset you didn't get the ticket when you were done, that is not the European way. Signal any wait staff and the ticket will be delivered. Unlike the US, restaurants here don't try to "turn your table" and get you out of there fast. They want you to enjoy. Finally, the hotel operations manager - Mariya Temerova (who responds to these reviews) - was back and forth on the patio watching and talking to the staff. She was constantly moving and assisting with tables and restocking where needed. I do not understand how some unhappy guests can complain about food service at the Hilton Mainz when the actual metrics show that the service is running exactly as it should. Dr. N. Phelan

Just arrived at 9pm from a long trip and got a room far away and had to walk for 5-7minutes into a different building 2 elevators afar. As I was hungry and the restaurant was 5-7min away I thought of getting a room service salad, something simple. I call 5 times both room service and restaurant and got no answer. Just a voice message and reception trying to connect me with the restaurant without too much support. Nothing. So I have been unable to get anything to eat. I would have imagined for the night rates Hilton charges that a simple room service would be possible. So quite disappointing in that regard. Got the hotel because of a conference next to it, otherwise no chance Hilton would be my first option. There are so many other better experiences.
