I had a great experience during my stay at this hotel, which is in a central and prime location, perfect for getting around easily. I especially want to highlight the outstanding service from Connor at the front desk. When I arrived, I was informed that my originally booked room type had unfortunately sold out. Connor immediately offered a thoughtful solution and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable with the alternative option. His communication was clear, courteous, and reassuring throughout the entire process. All of the hotel staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. While the room was a bit small, it was clean and well-maintained, and the overall service more than made up for it. I would gladly stay here again.
Although recently refreshed furniture, I would not quite call this location up to the typical Hilton standard. It is a decent option given the alternatives in the area. The location is fantastic. The Staff is good and does what they can (likely limited by ownership). The valet team is pretty quick and helpful. The rooms are clean and maybe just a bit lacking. We paid extra for larger room with an enormous amount of space and they put a small table in one single chair when there was space easily for three or four, which would’ve been a nice option to at least have two. The new mattresses are firm, likely because they are new. The bathrooms are a bit on the older side and while they did get refreshed, they’re not remodeled. They still have bathtub base showers, but I will give them this - the water pressure is solid and the temperature does get warm. Overall, I would say that this is the best option in the area and I would generally say it’s an OK choice.
The Hilton Orrington has historic charm, is in a great location, and the staff are extremely friendly. That said, over two different stays, rooms and the general experience of the hotel are notably poor to the point where I would avoid this hotel. In my first stay, I was checked into a room that had a large HVAC unit directly outside the only window in my room, with no view at all to the outside. That HVAC unit loudly ran all day and all night throughout my stay. I left feedback and was contacted by the front office supervisor, who apologized. I then decided to give the hotel a second chance. I arrived late (1am) and was checked into a room with a squealing air conditioner. I went back down the front desk and changed rooms, which resolved the issue until 8am the next morning, when loud banging started directly outside my door due to ongoing elevator maintenance. I tried to go back to sleep and even attempted to block the space at the bottom of my door with pillows to reduce the noise, but the banging continued for at least *five hours* until I finally gave up and went to a coffee shop to work. I wrote to the front office supervisor and never did receive a response. I finally went to the front desk to ask for another room change. After staying in four different rooms at the Hilton Orrington over two stays, only one of the rooms was comfortable and allowed me to sleep comfortably. There are a few other very nice hotels nearby the Hilton Orrington. It is worth the extra money to stay at one of them.
