Hilton Zurich Airport

After my flight was cancelled with Swiss air I was extremely fortunate to be offered this wonderful hotel. The room was clean and comfortable with high quality water offered complimentary. The food from their buffet was extremely well prepared by high quality chefs, and on top of that their breakfast was truly 5 stars with a wide range of meats, cheese, and wide offerings from your traditional English breakfast to a Japanese complement. On top of this your fitness services were strong with a well equipped sauna (albeit the steam room wasn’t as well equipped but I believe that was because I came late in the evening). On top of this the fitness equipment was clean and a great range. The customer service was truly fantastic, despite being a customer through the challenges of a cancelled flight I was well respected and welcomed by staff and given excellent service with a smile.

This hotel is convenient to the airport but that’s about it. Rooms are older. Clean and decent but could use modernizing (no electrical outlets on either side of the bed, a musty smell in the room, chipped paint on doors). Wifi was in and out. Restaurant was pretty awful, we sat for nearly 15 mins and no waiter came to our table so we were forced to eat the $40 buffet or limited selection.

With the Hilton name I expected better. We recently had to spend a night here because of a flight. We checked in (late), staff were super nice so no issues there. We get to the room, unpack and I jump in the shower. While in the shower I look up and see granular, reddish brown spores coming from the ceiling. I didn’t want to bother switching rooms when I called the desk so I just went to bed. When checking out the next morning, I showed the front desk attendant and she was appalled and profusely apologized and took a picture of the attached pictures her and said her management would reach out. It’s been over a week and I haven’t heard a peep from them. This is disgusting, unprofessional and potentially hazardous. The sink didn’t drain and the shower is more effective at sending water out than keeping it in. Food was good though.
