Phenomenal Five-Day Stay – Highly Recommended! We spent five days at this hotel and it was phenomenal. As travel enthusiasts, we always have the same questions and concerns as anyone reading this—especially about safety. Being American, that’s usually our first thought. I can confidently say that staying at this hotel felt just as comfortable and secure as being back home. The hotel is impeccably clean, the check-in staff and waiters are first-class professionals, and everyone we encountered was so kind—especially the bellhops and waiters (I wish I remembered all their names, but thank you so much to each of them!). The 24-hour café is fantastic—the food is great, and if you enjoy a beer, they offer free beer, which I definitely appreciated. Overall, it was an unbelievable stay. We couldn’t have asked for better service or a better experience. Thank you!
Fantastic experience staying here 1 week. Rooms are immaculate and comparable to an upscale USA hotel. Was worried about noise in the city center but it was fine—thick masonry walls. A small percentage of their rooms are street facing, so if you’re sensitive probably safest to call them and ask for any of the others, or plan to run the AC fan for white noise. Staff are multi-lingual and super nice. Just a good vibe that they care about doing a good job, from the front desk to the cafe staff, front door, even the people cleaning who were always around scrubbing already clean surfaces. Refreshing after some more commercialized experiences. Full breakfast and 24/7 cafe (?!) with panini, soups, pastries, coffee etc. were included in our very reasonable room rate (booked directly on hotel website which seems best). Breakfast had some lighter healthier options like egg white omelette w/ steamed veggies, or yogurt and fresh fruit, which were welcome after eating out a lot. Orange juice was fresh squeezed (“natural” in Spanish). Beds were longer than other places we stayed which was nice for a tall person. Atrium has pleasant seating on each level and free bottled water. The plants are real. Neighborhood has incredible architecture going back to the 1500’s, incredibly busy pedestrian-only streets, museums, people-watching. Ballet Folklorico is a must see. This place was a highlight of our trip.
On the positive side: very friendly and competent staff, good facilities, and an absolutely fantastic location. The all-inclusive café offer is a nice bonus. However, our first room (No. 101) was located directly behind the gym, so we could hear all the noise from there. The room was also very dark, as the “window” faced an air conditioning shaft (see picture). For the second night, we were given a different room, but I still felt that the value for money was poor. Breakfast space is limited – everything is served to the table (quickly and in very good quality), but we had to wait 20 minutes for a table. Overall, I expect more from a hotel of this category and price range.
