HL Rio Playa Blanca

I don’t understand how anyone can rate this under 4 stars?! The food is incredible for an all-inclusive buffet. Drink selection is great. The rooms are clean, there are four family’s in our group and all four rooms were fine! Staff were friendly. Do not listen to the karens posting a picture of a cockroach or a rusty door hinge its pathetic, considering what we paid for this place and the amount of amazing food we ate, decent beer and cocktails kids loved the entertainment. What more could you want??

This is a late review as we have stayed here the last 2 years and are going back in 3 weeks time with all the family. I have seen some pretty unfair reviews regarding the drinks and food and would like to clear this up. There is beer on tap, wine on tap, soft drinks on tap and local spirits...what more do you need. One of the main reasons we keep coming back is because of the choice of food available. We have 5 children and being kids, they are fairly fussy however there is a really good mix of food and always something different available. I'm a big foodie and find the food is really tasty with a huge selection be it meat, fruit, vegetables or desert. The staff are incredible, always happy to help and they keep the place clean and tidy. The rooms are spacious and they are clean with good air conditioning. Credit to the cleaners because they work really hard. There are times when we have told them not to worry about cleaning the room because we keep ours clean anyway. Great entertainment for adults and children. All in all this hotel is a fantastic place to stay so well done HL group, keep up the good work

Basic but good clean hotel. Spacious rooms, wonderful showers, good facilities and quiet location. Was grateful as other hotels are facing main road whereas this was set back. Food pleasant but not that varied - never went hungry though! BBQ ribs were a special treat. Staff really nice - from reception, to the bars, to the cleaners. The animation team treated everyone well and were good at entertaining the kids. Husband wanted to use treadmill in the small gym but it wasn't working sadly so had to continue training in the blazing heat! Location bit remote but my husband and I are into walking so didn't mind the 2 hour trek to and from the very far mall - lots of restaurants and eateries with shops en route, about 20 mins walk to main thoroughfare. Really liked the main pool but equally enjoyed the quiet pool round corner. All in all a lovely stay. Thank you HL Rio!
