Hoeve Alegria

This hotel has an amazing service and the hostess (Veronique) is the sweetest! The rooms has all the facilities necessary (and the showers in the bathroom are amazing). The breakfast was great with a nice variety. Our experience couldn't be better! We know where we're staying if we visit the city again!

We have been staying in Alegria for 3 nights. Location is very good, close to city center. Very small room. Clean and net space. Good breakfast. Very good coffee. Personel is not friendly. Policy of locking the doors is bad.

I’m writing about the shop in front that is part of the hotel and sells hats, scarves and gloves. I was looking for gloves and asked the lady working there that I was concerned about their warmth. She told me that they were so warm that I could wear them in Scandinavia or riding a motorcycle, so I thought wow and I bought them for 100€! I would never buy gloves for that price if they didn’t have some sort of function. Anyways, my hands were so cold in them that they were basically falling off, so I wanted to bring them back the next day. As soon as I expressed that I would like to give them back her tone and demeanour got so incredibly rude. She told me she didn’t *promise* me they were warm, she simply *told* me they were warm and then proceeded to show me a sign that they don’t take back anything. The sign was hidden behind a stack of scarves (and also conveniently written in Flemish in a hotel that hosts international guests). If she had simply told me politely she is sorry that they don’t keep me warm but she can’t take them back I wouldn’t be writing this but she was SO rude it was incredible.
