Holiday Inn Basildon

All the staff were extremely, pleasant, helpful and friendly. The rooms were beautifully appointed and everywhere was immaculately clean. Although the hotel is situated within a retail park the rear of the hotel itself is actually by a lovely lake. There is a very pleasant outside seating area where you can sit and look at the lake. The breakfast room has beautiful views of the lake. We had a lovely evening meal in the bar area and the breakfast the next morning was superb. Excellent choice and quality of food. Thank you all for a really wonderful stay!

I stayed for 1 night with my daughter for a wedding. The service and help we received was fab. My Dad unfortunately had turn for the worse, the staff was lovely in helping, they shielded the area for privacy and a lady came over to assist us and call and ambulance. The staff continued to check on us in the evening and even the next day which was very thoughtful. The bar man Thayn was really lovely and came over to check on me to see if I needed anything as I was a bit shaken up. The views over the lake are beautiful, makes you feel like your somewhere in the country. Location is perfect for exploring the area. The food was great, we had a meal for dinner and the Buffet in the evening was amazing, sadly too full from dinner. Room was a bit pricey, bed was super comfortable and the room itself was very clean. Defo come come if i needed a hotel. 😊

Perfect location for a visit to family. Ample parking but £12 per 24 hours. Not enough staff covering the bar and bringing food which led to some considerable waits between courses. Food was hearty and more than filling. Excellent hot breakfast. Staff friendly. Breakfast room is up 2 flights of stairs with no lift. They hope to provide lift access in the future we were told. For those who can't make the stairs they can order and eat in the restaurant/bar area on the ground floor. Reasonable cost.
