Holiday Inn Chelyabinsk Hotel

What a find! An old soviet building of 8 floors and there at the bottom is a holiday inn. Great Wi-fi and they speak English too. Very impressed.

Been here three times. Staff is always helpful. Front desk is always nice and hospitable. BUT... my most recent time there on march 21st 2014 I was eating breakfast with my girlfriend. I usually like eating breakfast there because it's convenient. over priced but it's nice to not travel anywhere to get food when your jet lagged. anyway. we were eating and this boy-man was harassing my girlfriend!!! he said " Our breakfast wasn't included with our room charge". ok that's fine. I ate there the day before. no problem. charge it to the room. I will pay the 600ru price. but this dick kept insisting to me and her that we had to pay. I'm not sure what his major malfunction was but it made us feel uncomfortable. Like he was afraid we didn't have any money. It was strange. I think he also yelled at one of the poor waitress girls too. I confronted him about it. and asked if there was a problem. he said no " just wanted to let you know that this food is not included in the room fee". Which I knew having eating there the day prior and the two other times last year I've been there. Again on our way out he asked again!!! like he didn't believe i was going pay in check out? not sure but his attitude was rude and unprofessional. So maybe check the Radisson Blu across the river. little more expensive but maybe they don't have the KGB man-boy at their breakfast. hope this is helpful. also if you hate cigarettes don't bother eating there either. -m
