Holiday Inn Express Chengdu Wuhou New City

This is our hotel on our first two nights in China, and Chengdu is our first destination. The hotel is 30 minutes from the main centre by taxi and is easily accessible. The hotel is simple and clean. The staff are good. However, the language barrier is real, and because of that, they are unable to assist at times, but they do try hard. The breakfast here is good. The food tastes clean and very healthy. They also have free laundry and dryer. I've been to so many hotels and this is the only hotel that offers these things for free. My most favourite thing about this hotel is their duck feather pillow and duvet. I slept really well, and I honestly love this hotel because of that, lol The shower has been great here, the water pressure is really good and I love that the mirrors don't steam up even when I am using the hot water, another reason why I put 5 star on rooms. There is this unmanned store beside the hotel that is overwhelming for someone like me who is not used in scanning doors to open a store, but you can get food in there or otherwise you can order. Location wise, this is, I think is a bit far and would prefer something walking distance.

The level of badness of the hotel must be number 1. Family We went with 4 people. Stayed here for 2 days. First day out so it's okay. Because I was tired from traveling, I stayed in my room all day on the second day. So I advise you to avoid this hotel if you come here. It's really annoying because the phone in the room is always ringing very impolitely. When I answer, no one answers. Noisy room next door. In our room, we looked at the phone with low sound and the receptionist called to remind us. I don't understand why you're upset with us. Very annoying. Eating and drinking is extremely salty (probably because I can't eat too much salt). The noodles are half raw and half cooked. . Receptionist is not friendly. Unpleasant attitude even when our family goes out to eat. Receptionist holds a passport but is stupid and doesn't know how to read Chinese (even though they are Chinese). The worst hotel I've ever been to. Morning breakfast. Several Chinese women also argued with the receptionist and breakfast staff. They wait too long for food for their babies and do not make food for their babies. The hotel is terrible and unfair even to a child.
