I had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn Express Lushan during my first visit to Xiamen for two nights. After reading past reviews, it seems they really improved a lot. The rooms were well appointed and the free breakfast was much better than anything in the states. The real gem was Alice who helped me with some local business I needed to take care of. It was incredible challenging taking care of what I needed because I didn’t speak Chinese, but in the end, I was successful and most of it was owed to her assistance. When I return to Xiamen, I wouldn’t hesitate staying at the HI Lushan. It’s centrally located with the line 1 metro station literally at the footsteps of the hotel and easily accessible to many areas of by Xiamen by metro or Didi.
Service is quite poor; doesn't even help to book taxi to airport. Suggest to get an alternative hotel.
