Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Merida La Isla

I had a friend in the hospital just down the street and this was close, safe and across the street from a great mall. Staff were all incredible. Meals were good. Linens on the bed excellent. Highly recommend it. I do wish it had a pool but it has a full gym.

Location is good, just across the Mall. Service is good, people very kind. GYM is a joke, totally sucks. It's at the garage, enclosed, no natural light, extra small, weighs missing, no bench, no machine, totally terrible. I requested towels and in 3 days they never brought them. If you like or have to workout AVOID this hotel.

NOT A TOURIST HOTEL! This Holiday Inn shares space with a much larger office building. The amenities are geared towards work travel. The website I used to book the hotel mentioned amenities, including Continental or American breakfast, not the additional exorbitant charge! Under pool amenity, it only says, no hot tub. Granted, there wasn't a pic, but please don't list no hot tub under pool amenity, it's confusing - expecting a pill but not hot tub. Very small lobby, and other than the small industrial looking hotel room, there was no room to relax around the hotel as the larger building shown in the pics is all office space. We had to spend our time in the mall across the street just to relax, but going back to the hotel and finding a parking space in the under ground garage during a work day, proved a challenge. I wish the hotel had advertised appropriately, as I was only looking for R & R after a weekend of travel!
