The Holiday Inn is clean and pleasant with staff that are very welcoming and friendly. The standard rooms are quite small but they are well equipped and clean. The bar area is very smart and spacious and the evening meal and breakfast were both excellent. The free parking and proximity to Lego land are also positives. The health club is run very well, with clean and powerful showers and tea and coffee making facilities. The pool is warm and of a good size. Overall, excellent value for money and highly recommended, however, do not book here if you’re looking for pool facilities as they are closed during some stays.
Staff were nice, breakfast was good however the room wasn't greatly clean. Also some parts of the hotel showing wear. The lifted carpet on the third floor on a corner by the three thirties nearly took me down but I saved my balance...that carpet needs looking at immediately. The "health club" was lacking somewhat...the pool was cold (too much so for my little one to stay in) and didn't feel/smell clean, you'd know what I mean if you were there. No express check out either, or if there was, it did t seem obvious.
What an absolute disgrace. I stayed here on business and found the restaurant was closed at 7pm. The bar was full of Lego land families with screaming kids. That in its self is ok, but please put your real customers in a decent eating environment. I have given this hotel many gushing reviews, but not this time. One weeks promotion of Lego land is clearly more important than the hard core of customers who normally stay here. Having spoken to my colleagues they all share my views. If you are going to do a promotion on half term at least open the restaurant for your hard core business customers to eat in a nice environment. Really disappointed with this badly run hotel. Sorry forgot to mention the 2 bar staff who where trying to do food and drinks. Cost cutting clearly evident here. I am so disappointed and definitely will not return or any employees from my company
