Holiday Inn Manchester City Centre by IHG

A very nice, clean and updated hotel. The room had comfy beds and a good size bathroom. The bed was comfortable. They seat you for breakfast. They have a good spread. Lots of staff clearing tables. Shops and restaurants are close by as well as the train.

I stayed here on business for 4 nights in March 2025. For a business traveller this offers a pretty faultless experience and I would definitely stay here again. Staff are extremely friendly at every point of contact and more than happy to help. A standard room was pretty good and definitely good enough if most of your trip is spent working. It was extremely clean and the daily housekeeping kept it that way during my stay. The bed was comfortable and the in room facilities offered everything you need (apart from a terrible hairdryer!). The breakfast service was extremely busy around 07.30-8. It’s easy enough to get a table but it is really busy so you might prefer to avoid that time. Even when busy though the food was replenished and it was easy enough to get the food you wanted. Food was good quality for the most part and it is good value if you can get it included in the room rate. I have previously stayed at the MotelOne around the corner from this Holiday Inn and by comparison this is a much more comfortable experience and makes a business trip nicer. Whilst this is not a luxury property it does offer a full service and it’s worth the small difference in price.

As a family we had a good stay at this Holiday Inn. Especially on the evening of arrival we were impressed by the hotel and the staff: very friendly check in, very spacious and neat room with a nice surprise and exactly according to our requests. The breakfast on the first day was excellently taken care of in a nice ambiance, although the coffee was a bit less tasty. The location then turned out to be excellent; close to all public transport and the city center. The bar and fitness were also excellent. The second morning it was - due to an event - very busy at breakfast and therefore the wait was longer and we were in a less cozy part of the room. Staff did their utmost to make it as pleasant as possible for everyone. Our check out was the only downside; impersonal and uninterested.
