Holiday Inn Manchester Media City UK by IHG

I initially planned for a 2 day stay but eventually ended up staying for 3.5 days. The location is very good, surrounded by many established companies like BBC and the University of Salford. The rooms are very good and spacious. Over and above, I really appreciate the good work by the front desk and also people who worked at the bar area. The menu was small, but the food was amazing. The stay has been good, and the views of the Salford area were more special. Thank you, guys !

A Stay of Contrasts at Holiday Inn Express Our experience at Holiday Inn Express was a mix of exceptional hospitality and a surprising lapse in service. From the moment we checked in, we were greeted with a genuinely warm and friendly welcome by Sarah, setting a positive tone for our stay. Her approach made us feel valued as guests and was a great start to our visit. On the mezzanine floor, Paula, Karin, and Rebecca continued this trend of outstanding service, ensuring we had a fantastic breakfast experience. Their kindness and attentiveness made a real difference—they were friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond throughout our time at the hotel. However, a small request for an extra bath towel later in the stay revealed an unfortunate contrast. When I contacted reception for assistance, I was met with an unnecessarily curt response. Rather than simply addressing the request, the interaction became confusing and dismissive, which was disappointing given the otherwise excellent service from the rest of the team. Despite this isolated experience, the majority of our stay was pleasant, thanks to the wonderful staff members who made an effort to create a welcoming environment. With a little refinement in front desk communication, this hotel could provide a truly seamless and enjoyable experience for all guests.

Used this as our base for a cricket tour weekend, after playing a match in Monton we travelled over and checked in - reception staff friendly and professional, twin room was decent and the bed was comfy (although only used for about 5 hours both nights due to very late returns from Manchester’s pubs and clubs!). Good buffet breakfast and all in all a decent place that met our requirements more than adequately, with local amenities on hand too (bars, cafes and restaurants)
