I had an excellent stay at the Holiday Inn München Süd! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. My room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic — fresh, delicious, and with a great variety of choices to start the day right. I also really enjoyed the peaceful courtyard, which adds a nice touch to the property. As a Holiday Inn member, I was pleasantly surprised by the little extra touches: they kindly bought me a coffee and took care of all my printing needs without hesitation. The service truly went above and beyond. The location is quiet but very convenient for getting into the city. I’ll definitely be staying here again next time I’m in Munich!
Basically got scammed and the staff gaslight us. We had 2 bookings between 8 people for our first holiday after graduation from University. Our friends complained about there being no hot water so they had to use our shower which made us late to our excursion we booked for our first day. They told the staff there was no hot water which they then said that “none of the rooms have hot water” when she explained that they had to use our room for hot water and that that wasn’t true they said that “oh, only a select amount of rooms have hot water” (which was unacceptable). The next day we came back and there was hot water in there room meaning all of the above they said was a complete lie. They scammed us when we booked a taxi to the hotel costing us atleast €130 more than they told us it was. (We had used all our euros for the holiday and had kept the amount it would be per person in cash as we were told it was cash only). We were given 2 separate taxis and told we needed to pay DOUBLE the amount they told us the price would be. The driver wouldn’t let us pay until we gave him cash (which we didn’t have) as he said he didn’t have a card machine. Then when we showed him the lack of cash we had he then waved the card machine at us and upped the price again. Would love our money back and refund for the taxi which they booked for us at half the price we had to pay in the end. Poor service…
Me and my friends decided to visit Munich for a few days to celebrate our graduation, we split a few rooms between us here, and almost immediately encountered problems. Firstly, our queen bed was smaller than anticipated, and the sofa bed hadn't even been set up yet. We asked the staff to sort the latter and the man they sent quite literally dropped the blankets with us and told us to do it ourselves because his "shift was finished". The next day our journey out into Munich was delayed because we found out the hard way that we didn't have hot water. We borrowed the showers of our other friends and later confronted the staff on the issue. They then tried to gaslight us by saying that none of the rooms have hot water. When called out on this blatant lie they simply said that some rooms lacked hot water currently. Throughout this whole ordeal we were in touch with Holiday Inn who told us to talk to the staff (who directed us to the call line in the first place) as they would be "happy to help". Naturally, the person we were asked to talk to was apparently "in training" and thus we weren't allowed to talk to them. The cherry on top is our last day, the night before we had to go we spoke to the staff about getting a taxi there. They booked a taxi for the 8 of us, promising us it was a set amount of 20 euros (in cash) each. Then on the day we got to the airport and the taxis overcharged, taking literally every euro we had left, and then still demanding an extra 30 via card. It also wasn't an 8 person taxi, but instead two 4 person taxis (which charged us seperate rates, both of which were higher than what the hotel promised us was fixed). The only credit I can give is that the facilities were nice and the rooms were clean. The whole place seems like a coin flip, you could easily have a great or terrible time here, but given my experience with the staff, I'm inclined to believe the latter and couldn't in good consciousness recommend it.
