I have just spent 3 days at this lovely Holiday Inn as part of a coach party. Firstly all the staff are so helpful, polite and friendly nothing too much trouble. The lovely clean and well presented rooms and eating areas. The food was beautiful, hot, good choice and very well presented. The catering dept adapted their Restaurant opening time for us as we were going to see Torvill and Dean and had to leave the hotel within half an hour of the Restaurant opening so they opened 30 mins earlier and everyone was so obliging and helpful. I would definitely recommend this Holiday Inn for people visiting Newcastle as the location was also on point 10 mins and you're in the City centre.

Room was very good, location is handy for amenities but is on a very busy road so quite noisy if you sit out the front. The reason Im not giving 5 stars is the food; the breakfast was good but the restaurant/bar food was not great, undercooked in places and very over seasoned in others meaning we could not eat it and it really let the hotel down especially given how fantastic the staff are; every member of staff we spoke to were brilliant and a credit to the hotel chain, helpful and knowledgeable reception staff, bar and restaurant servers were incredibly helpful and my wife and I felt well looked after.

Pleasant enough place. A bit of a hotch potch of a building with some new parts joined on to older bits. Our room was a bit of a trek to get to going up, then along then back down...The room itself was OK, but the safe didn't work and it was starting to look a little worn in places. Food and drinks a little expensive but probably about right for a hotel. It is right on a main road so if you want to sit outside it isn't exactly quiet. Overall it was OK, just an average hotel.
