Holiday Inn Queenstown Frankton Road by IHG

We stayed at The Holiday Inn – Frankton for two weeks on our honeymoon, and from the moment we arrived, we felt truly looked after. From a beautiful room and complimentary drinks to delicious eggs cooked just the way we like them—every detail was thoughtful. But what stood out most were the warm conversations and genuine friendliness of the staff. It made all the difference. Thanks to this experience, we’ll absolutely be returning. Most rooms have a great look out over the lake which is amazing! If you have a car, it's a 5 minute drive to the town center. The parking is tricky though, especially if the hotel is booked out. You may be walking up hills.

Let us book for 5 people (2× adults, 7y, 10y and 14y) in a room that only has 2x double beds. I queried on my booking email, would a single bed for the 5th person be supplied, no answer. I clarified on check in, that the room was for 5 people, and was assured yes it was (he held up 4 fingers and a thumb). When I went back to reception after unlocking the room, I was told "that's the room configuration you booked" no offer of any resolution (a trundle bed, an extra mattress) With the limited accommodation options available for 3 children, if I had received a reply to my booking query, I would have asked to bring my own aired and bedding for one of the kids. There was broken glass found on the floor infront of the toilet, a leaky bathroom tap, and the silicone around the toilet stained with urine. I would also not recommend our room for anyone other than close families, as the shadowing from the full length bathroom frosted window had to be covered for anyone to use the shower without putting on a "puppet show". Disappointing.
