Holiday Inn Tulum Downtown

I stayed here for a month, participating in a training/retreat in the rooftop palapa. The hotel was in transition, renovating from Selina Downtown to the Holiday Inn. So there was some construction, but my single room with a kingsize bed and balcony was quiet. The receptionist and office staff was wonderful and attentive--Fatima, Laura, Sam and Mati. All other staff-- workers, house-cleaning, restaurant, etc, greeted us with a friendly "ola". We had the rooftop to ourselves with a nice swimming pool. I believe there are plans to renovate the rooftop after our retreat, which will be beautiful, with a view of the jungle and city. The hotel is in within easy walking distance to unique little clothing shops and good restaurants like El Cayuco (fresh fish tacos!) I will always have fond memories of my stay here.

Super happy we arrived at 3 am and had another hotel reserved and confirmed with the hotel to arrive early but when we got there no one answered so we were stuck out in the lonely dark streets and were driving around and calling every where and we drove past and came back hoping they had an open door with a front desk person and success. With the help of Vikki she helped us get a room and I must say the room was clean and cute. We really appreciate Vikki for helping us in a time of need. Thank you.

Stayed this week at the Holiday Inn Tulum. The hotel is located in Tulum Centro but not exactly in the middle of it all. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk from most of the downtown eateries. Reception was warm and friendly. As an Elite member though, they failed to provide any sort of upgrade from the standard room booked, and did not provide the welcome amenity points either. Room is comfortable though good luck figuring out the AC control which seems to have a mind of its own on the temperatures.
