Holiday Inn Zurich Messe by IHG

Great stay at the holiday inn! We stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed the room and the restaurant. We actually dined here for dinner on both nights because the food was that good and convenient after a long day of travelling. Important to note that the restaurant does close at 9:30pm. They were also quite busy with a tour group in-house but the service did not fail for us. We didn’t have to wait too long for our food or the bill. Very efficient staff, I even noticed the front desk manager assisting the restaurant team at time. They clearly know how to work together. The breakfast buffet was really nice with both cold and hot options available. The hotel itself is close to public transportation and doesn’t take to long to get into the city center. We didn’t have any noise issues being close to a music venue across the street or with the construction work being done in the area. Our room was spacious, clean and had all the amenities we needed. I would definitely recommend. Thank you to the team here for a great stay!

The hotel is very nice, however the air-conditioning sounds like its been out a while... and when you are hitting 90+ degrees F (30+ C) a fan just is not enough in each room. The staff is wonderful though. I had issues with payment and they were so patient and let me get my card sorted for a day with just a deposit down.

This review is low because of the customer service. The room itself is okay, but there is no shower door so water goes everywhere. As for the customer service, we were upgraded when we checked in. That was nice. We were told two main things: (1) that the minibar was included in the upgrade, and (2) the hours of breakfast which was also included. The minibar had next to nothing but it was included so I didn’t care. The breakfast however was a different story. The day of checkout we go down stairs and get breakfast which was nice. However the staff told us that we WEREN’T upgraded and we were told we were wrong. Essentially, they said that us being upgraded was impossible when quite literally the day before we were told that happened. Instead of trying to work with us they decided to nickel and dime. I doubt that the minibar was included now and fully anticipate a massive charge. Do not book here.
