Hollywood Media Hotel

I picked this hotel mainly for its location during the City Night Run, and I’m really glad I did. With all the road closures and extra crowds because of Pride weekend, staying further out would’ve been a hassle. The Good Stuff: The room was great for a solo stay – comfy bed, good bath and shower, and the TV had YouTube built in, which was a nice touch. Easy to sign into my account and watch what I wanted. Breakfast was a big win – loads of options at the buffet and definitely worth it. Just a small thing, but it would help if some items listed the ingredients – I don’t drink milk, so I wasn’t sure if the smoothies had any without asking. Still, way better value than buying breakfast from a café each morning. There’s a small gym and sauna too. I used the gym once for a quick workout – it was quiet when I went, which was perfect. Didn’t try the sauna, but nice that it’s there. Also, bonus points for the free ice machine – handy for drinks or even a cheeky ice bath if you’re feeling brave 😆. The Not-So-Good: A couple of small things – housekeeping forgot to replace the toilet paper, so I had to ask. Also, reception was a bit slow later in the day. When I checked out, I was kind of expecting a friendlier vibe – maybe a “thanks for staying” or even just a smile – but it felt a bit cold and rushed. Not a big deal, but a little friendliness goes a long way, especially when you're paying a decent amount. Overall: Minor issues aside, I’d definitely stay here again. Great location, comfy room, good facilities, and breakfast was spot on.

This hotel is a solid option for travelers looking for practicality over luxury. The check-in was smooth, and the room was ready upon arrival. Everything was as described online — clean room, working facilities, average furnishings. Internet speed was good for browsing and email. The staff were professional and polite. No real complaints, but also nothing particularly memorable.

Understaffed with less than friendly staff who made you feel like you were bothering them with questions about the immediate area, transportation, etc. Rooms were adequate but cleaned with a cleaner that reminds you of your grandma’s perfume. Hot showers, terribly flat pillows but quiet surroundings.
