Hoshino Resorts KAI Ito

Our family's stay at KAI Ito was like a dream. From the moment we drove into the parking lot, we were greeted with offers of assistance for our baggage. The ryokan lobby was filled with a most pleasant scent. The young lady who checked us in was extremely helpful and we appreciated her explanations in English and Japanese regarding the facility's layout and opportunities. Our family was able to participate in the making of our own camellia oil, which provided a unique souvenir of our stay. The room exceeded our expectations. It was very spacious, clean, well-organized, and perfect for our family of four. Having selected and reserved a room with our own private onsen provided a method for one of my more shy family members to experience an onsen hot spring. We also used the men and women's public onsen areas and appreciated the available video and translated instructions on the wall, to ensure that we bathed properly before entering the public onsen, where to place our clothing items, and used proper onsen etiquette. My daughter loved the popsicles after her onsen experience. I thought the hydrangea tea was amazing! We cannot say enough wondering things about our kaiseki meals at KAI Ito. Both our dinner and breakfast were visually stunning and beyond delicious. Our servers were so attentive and we were grateful for their English explanations of our dishes. So many unique, first time food experiences for our family. It was hard to decide on a favorite! I would also recommend to other travelers to add the dinner beef course. It was very memorable. Another nice touch that we enjoyed was the available garden and koi pond. My kids enjoyed watching the fish and were even more delighted to discover the available fish food. We can truly say that our stay at KAI Ito was at the top of our Japan vacation experiences and created valuable memories for my family.

A truly lovely experience. It’s a short drive/walk from Ito station and is such a beautiful hotel. I enjoyed the really wonderful food and the onsen. I was surprised that the onsen wasn’t tooooo hot, which was actually good, since sometimes they are too hot and I get lightheaded. I brought my parents here while they visit me in Japan and it was a great stay. The staff are very polite and welcoming and some speak quite good English so my parents could speak to them too. Great amenities across the pool, onsen, lounge, lobby etc… I will definitely look at staying at another Hoshino property on my next vacation. Also - a very spacious parking lot across from the hotel.

The staff provided excellent service, made me feel like I was a VIP. Food was delicious. I enjoyed the stunning Japanese garden too. The onsen is not too big, but it is beautiful.
