Hoshino Resorts KAI Nagato

Such a fantastic resort with lovely kind and helpful staff in a beautiful location. Our experience was perfect in a natural relaxing Japanese setting. I miss it already . I’d love to come back again next time I pass by Japan.

Nestled in the valleys of hills beside a stream, this hidden resort has a way of lifting your spirits. Have a snack by one of the private spots beside the river and count the kois, explore the surrounding shops and wildlife. The onsen itself is lovely with an indoor and outdoor pool. When you’re done, treat yourself to a fruity popsicle and mikan juice. The dinner is really a sight to behold. Not sure how it is possible, but the dinner on the second night managed to be even better than the first. The calligraphy activity was nice as well but a little short. We did the morning shrine walk which was a lovely start to the day, although I have to say the meeting point wasn’t quite clear and would have been better set right at the back entrance rather by the river. Nevertheless, the guide provided a nice tour of the local area and provided recommendations for lunch. The only thing lacking in this place is a massage service. A lovely retreat in the lush mountainous region of Yamaguchi.

So this review is mostly for the incredible response from the customer service team at hotel Kai Nagato. I made a stupid mistake during reservation at one of of their sister property, but they helped me contact the correct hotel to fix my mistake. They could have just told me to contact the other hotel, but instead went the extra mile to assist. I am very grateful for their understanding and kind support. In the future I would not hesitate to book this hotel.Their staff is incredibly kind and understanding.
