This is a wonderful spa experience in the countryside of Japan. The attention to detail and care taken by the staff are impressive. There are many English speaking employees, which made our stay easy. The food and presentation are five star. The activities are authentic Japanese and the location is perfectly situated between Izumo and Matsue for good sightseeing.
With the excellent meal, which you would probably pay about $150 or more a head for in New York (and for worse fish), this was well worth it. Great staff and the rooms are amazing. Just a warning that Matsue is really far from Izumo, so expect a big cab fare or a long ride on a slow train if that is where you are coming from.
The building is very old so some places smell mald, but tge hospitality was great. And the food was pretty good:)
