We usually stay with Marriott properties but decided to try Hotel 1000 due to its excellent location and it really was perfect. Everything was within walking distance: the waterfront, Pike Place Market, and more. The hotel itself is beautiful. Valet staff were incredibly kind and attentive, they even double-checked that my taxi drivers were picking up the right guests. Thoughtful touches like complimentary umbrellas on a rainy day were much appreciated. Our room was lovely, especially the clean soaking tub with a view of the TV, a great way to relax after walking over 10 miles around the city. However, the shower was surprisingly small, and despite using loyalty status to request an upgraded view, the room we received had a very disappointing one. We also ran into issues with late checkout, they would only allow it for $50 per hour, which felt excessive. While they did hold our luggage after checkout, the lack of flexibility with perks normally associated with hotel status created a bit of a headache, especially with our flight schedule. Overall, while the hotel has a lot to offer in terms of style and location, it may not be the best choice for loyalty-focused travelers.
We recently stayed here for a 4-night stay and unfortunately experienced a serious plumbing issue that impacted our experience. The shower in our original room provided either freezing cold or scalding hot water, with no ability to regulate it. After notifying staff, engineering confirmed there was a valve problem affecting our tower. As a result, we had to repack and move to a smaller, downgraded room. Our second room’s shower also had issues; the water flooded the bathroom floor each time we showered so we had to put down a bunch of towels on the floor to soak it up. While we understand that issues can happen, what was disappointing was how the situation was handled. No compensation or adjustment to our rate was offered until we asked for it, which we shouldn’t have had to do. Even then, the staff made minimal effort to accommodate us or make up for the inconvenience of not having a functional shower and being moved mid-stay. For example, a manager assured us if we packed our bags, they would move our luggage to our new room, but they didn’t. Overall, we had hoped for more proactive customer service and hospitality, especially at a hotel of this caliber. The experience left us feeling like guest comfort wasn’t a priority. More empathy and initiative from management would have been appreciated.
I stayed at Hotel 1000 recently as a Hilton Gold member, and this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had with the brand. First, the room had multiple maintenance issues: - Several power outlets did not work at all. - One of the main lights was broken; engineering came but could not repair it. I was told it would take days because the entire fixture needed to be replaced. - The shower’s bottom seal was damaged, causing water to leak across the bathroom floor every time we used it. Originally, my reservation was $397.84 for one night. However, after the so-called complimentary upgrade, I was shocked to find the rate had changed to $748.96. As a Hilton Gold member, this experience was deeply disappointing. I expected more transparency and recognition of loyalty — instead, I was nearly charged double without clear explanation or consent. The internal miscommunication and inconsistent handling made the situation even more frustrating. For a luxury property under Hilton’s LXR brand, this level of service, maintenance, and internal communication is unacceptable. The location is nice, but the execution and management fell far short. Definitely not worth the price.
