This place definitely fits the bill of not much to look at from the outside, but amazing on the inside. It's relatively small and independent, and not very tall. The decor is great pretty much everywhere. There is an elevator, but it's kind of inconvenient, you're more meant to use the stairs. The rooms, at least the one I stayed in, are on the tight side - there's a full-size bed, and it's nice, and a little desk, and not much else, or room for much else. The bathroom was bigger and nicer than I expected. I think they do have a bigger variety of room types and costs though. Everything I saw in the room was clean and in good shape. The included breakfast is a nice highlight. You reserve your time the day before, and it's a full-service cafe with a selection of great breakfast meals. The rooftop restaurant and bar is nice, with a great view of the horizon and sunset, if the weather cooperates. Good service and selection of food and drinks. It may get a little busier on weekend nights though. There's a small and rather tight paid parking lot you can get a spot in, otherwise it's street parking in the neighborhood, which seems to be reasonably plentiful and with the rules not very well enforced.

Exactly as described, expect ‘cozy’ because these rooms are “boutique” size so if you go into your stay with that in mind you’re in for a great stay! This is

Your experience relies heavily on which room you select. I have stayed here 3 times and because of this, each time was inconsistent. The old charm is nice, the rooftop is nice, no-kids policy is nice, and the complimentary breakfast (aside of the “budget” rooms) is nice. We stayed in room 203 this time. The mattress is noisy and uncomfortable, as are the pillows. There is no AC, and though they provide a fan, our room stayed humid (my sister had a room on floor 1 that felt much cooler). The window opens in towards the top of the bed, so you are unable to leave it open at night. There is almost no space to open or store your suitcase, especially for 2 people/room. We had a reservation for breakfast on our last morning and were told the kitchen was closing soon as we sat down. Overall, just kind of a frustrating experience. Given the cost to stay here, it doesn’t quite feel comfortable enough to justify coming back.
