Hotel 56 Bordeaux Centre Gare Saint Jean

The hotel is ideally located, just a short walk from the train station and tram services. You’ll be greeted with delicious candies at the reception, and the overall service and decor are excellent. The shower is fantastic, the bed is cozy, and the furniture is stylish and comfortable. My only complaint would be the payment process through Booking.com — it redirects you to a separate link, which can feel a bit unusual if you’re not familiar with it.

The service was 6/5. The staff is super friendly, they took our bags to the room because the room was not yet available upon our arrival and we got a free upgrade and hand written welcome note. The rooms are modern, they feel brand new and the beds are super comfy. The breakfast is all you can wish for and you have beauriful views of the river. Highly recommended, although 20mins by bus from the old city centre.

Amazing hotel, located a bit further from downtown, but doesn’t really matter, specially if you buy the Bordeaux City Pass. The rooms were a bit tight but nothing out of the ordinary for France. Service was great and so was comfort. Wifi is fast, the minibar has enticing options, staff is discrete and efficient.The wooden floors and modern look of the rooms added extra charm. Parking close is easy and cheap, but not free. There are plenty of dining options nearby although they are of lower standing than the hotel itself. The hotel restaurant was disappointing but these things can be judged separately. Overall, a great place to stay in Bordeaux, specially if you are travelling by train or car.
