The staff firstly and foremost are excellent. A lovely welcome from a French gentleman at reception who was super helpful with our room and car parking. His colleague in the afternoon gave great tips on restaurants, and another colleague was so kind as to arrange another duvet for us in the evening, and show us a little about the local area and history with the pictures in the dining room. The family room was new, large, and in great condition. Nice and quiet away from the street too. Hotel is bang in the centre, with everything nearby. A lovely stay, and thoroughly recommended. The staff really made our stay, and made us feel very welcome.
Surprisingly disappointing experience. Right from check-in, we were told the hotel pool was under maintenance and that we’d have to walk to another hotel to use their pool instead. We were also informed that the hotel’s parking was full—despite the fact that parking isn’t free and costs €30 per night. The hotel is in a very busy, tourist-heavy area, and finding alternative parking nearby was extremely difficult and stressful. When we tried to get to our room, we found that one of the only two elevators was also under maintenance. The single working elevator, which can only fit four people, was overwhelmed with guests. After waiting several minutes and getting nowhere, we ended up carrying our luggage up the stairs to our third-floor room. The room itself was another letdown. There’s no air conditioning, just a small fan that does little in the July heat. Despite the hotel’s website stating that every room includes a mini fridge, ours didn’t have one—so we couldn’t even keep our drinks cool. For this price range and a supposed four-star hotel, the number of inconveniences is unacceptable. I won’t be booking here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Despite being rated as a 4-star hotel, there was no air conditioning or minibar/fridge in the room. One of the elevators was out of order, and the swimming pool was unavailable. You're paying for a 4-star hotel but receiving the service of a guesthouse. Definitely not recommended.
