Another family and I just spent a long weekend at the Hotel Admiral as it was a bank holiday last Thursday and we wanted to enjoy the sun so took the long drive from Zurich. We have stayed at the hotel before and each time we come back, I see that they are continuously improving the place with fresh refurbishment and additional modern touches. Overall we had a great time and much of that was due to the hotel, their staff and the services they provided to us. They really went out of their way to make our stay memorable. We were 2 families, with 2 kids (6 and 7 years) and a new baby under 1 year old. They provided us a connecting room which was great for the kids to enjoy and much easier for us as we had our private space but was still together. The pool was nice, not too big but was fun for the kids, and it was nice to have drinks to round off the day before heading to dinner. On the check out day, they were also very flexible with us allowing us to enjoy Lugano a bit more before we headed back to Zurich. Thank you Hotel Admiral Lugano - see you next time! :-)
Stayed here for one evening last week and had a great experience. Hotel was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Located in a good spot only 5 minutes walk from the waterfront. Receptionist was very welcoming on arrival, I believe her name was Roberta. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in Lugano area and would choose this hotel again.
I had a very disappointing experience with the receptionist at this hotel. There was no service mind at all. I had to wait for 25 minutes even though there were only two people ahead of me in the check-in queue. During that time, there was no greeting, no “Welcome,” no “Please wait a moment,” and not even a simple “Sorry to keep you waiting.” The woman named R. was especially unprofessional. She didn’t greet me or smile, and I strongly felt she was being discriminatory toward ASEAN guests. She was extremely friendly and warm to a guest who spoke Italian, spending a long time chatting and smiling with them, but when it was my turn, she checked me in in just three minutes—coldly and without a single kind word. Why did she let me wait for so long without even a basic greeting? Where is her hospitality? I’ve been traveling in Switzerland for a month and have had wonderful experiences at other hotels where the staff were kind and welcoming. This hotel was the complete opposite. It was the only negative part of my trip. I truly love Switzerland and always appreciate how warm and respectful the people are. This one experience at Hotel Admiral really stood out in a bad way and unfortunately affected my otherwise perfect trip.
