Hotel Aequa

Stayed one night in July as an emergency retreat from a very noisy Airbnb accommodation. Booked directly at the reception, hotel manager was extremely helpful. Room overlooking the mountains was very quiet at night, exactly what we needed! Pool area was very nice and relaxing, ok breakfast selection, also very cozy terrace with views over the sea.

We probably caught it out of season but it felt a little tired in places. We booked a Superior Room with sea views - it was only a sea view if you were on the balcony. Our friends had a standard room still with a view! The superior still felt basic but slightly better decor. Breakfast was ok, not outstanding. Weirdly they didn’t cover the tables so felt very unwelcoming. Staff were fine. In my opinion it’s not a 4-star hotel. Probably would have given it 3 stars but the location is great, right in the heart of the town and just a few mins from the station! And the view from the terrace was amazing - just a shame it hadn’t been swept or drinks being offered there.

Recently stayed at Hotel Aequa for a week . I had high hopes for this Hotel as we know Vico Equense very well . Sadly it seems the Single Rooms have no view and no daylight . Rooms were shabby and uninviting with a hair dryer that was more like an attachment from a vacuum cleaner . The pool area was lovely but frustrating as it became clear that so many of the rooms had balconies and delightful views over the pretty coastline . The staff at Hotel Aequa were lovely and very helpful . There were numerous Coach Trips having an early breakfast which meant that there was never any fresh fruit left when we went into the Buffet Area . One of the Waiters was quick to remedy this every morning. Just a small thing but I really appreciated his thoughtfulness On reflection I would not stay at this Hotel again which is a shame , so much potential ! A well decorated bedroom with a balcony and sea view would have made such a difference.
