I had broken down on my motorcycle, and this was the nearest hotel. They had secure parking and excellent rooms, so it was a no-brainer. Oto was particularly helpful in sorting recovery for my motorcycle to be repaired and without his help, this task would have been horrendous so thank you so much. Highly recommend this hotel anyway as the location is fantastic and will visit again in the future.
This hotel looks a lot better in photos than it is in reality. A couple of things to mention that impacted our stay: 1. The hotel clearly advertises at the front and in their lift that happy hour at the bar starts at 6pm. There is no happy hour, and the bar and restaurant open at 7:30pm. Additionally, there is nowhere to get a coffee or tea/coffee making facilities available in the room. When queried about the happy hour advertising in the hotel, the woman at reception literally shrugged in indifference and said there was nothing she can do. 2. Our experience with the hotel restaurant was horrible. There are very young staff, and they did their best, it was clear they were not particularly experienced or had training. I ordered the beef tenderloin, which had to be sent back twice to the kitchen as it was completely raw. We weren’t offered anything complimentary or offered an apology and we waited 1.5 hours for our food. In the end, we didn’t eat most of it and paid €24 for the pleasure of not eating the beef. The quality and service at the restaurant is not what you would expect at a four star hotel. 3. The air conditioning thermostat is centrally controlled and even though it was apparently set on “cool” the room was hot which impacted our sleep. Upsides include - lovely scenery if you have a room that faces the plains. Beds and pillows were comfortable, bathroom spacious.
It gets ridiculously damp in the bathroom because of some leak with pools of water on the floor. Two bathroom mats are not enough. At first we thought it was the way we showered (there’s no shower door although there’s a partial screen) but after a couple days we confused its really just leaking somewhere at the bathtub and poor drainage. It’s unpleasant and there are no bedroom slippers provided. One of the receptionist, maybe accidentally, rolls her eyes at us over simple question. (Others were quite polite) Really erratic service.
