Really nice hotel and staff. Very large room and amazingly comfortable bed. Beautiful bathroom too. I loved this place. A bit far from the center but worth the trouble of walking more. Good value for money.

The hotel is a little bit out of the main town; so you either like it to be quieter or you dislike it to be not in town centre. The staff in the hotel and in the adjoining cafe are very helpful and generally friendly. Hugo is a star; he gave us directions to walk directly to the main caminho track in a westerly direction from the hotel. Breakfast is served in the cafe, after booking at the hotel reception desk. The queen-size bedroom we had was a good size. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom and room were clean. The air-conditioning worked. The pool is on the small side and there are a few umbrellas and deck chairs. There are water dispensing machines on every floor to get cold and hot filtered water. The hotel provides a glass bottle in the room fridge because they do not believe in providing plastic bottles which are not good for the environment.

Room was not bad, but was not great either. The bath area is "taller" than the rest of the floor. When we took a bath, the water flooded the bathroom floor (there is no door pr anything to stop the water from coming out), literally creating a pool in the bathroom. Who was the mastermind behind that idea?? The room has literally no isolation of sound, we could hear every conversation, TV, etc... sleeping was not fun. During the mornings as well, as breakfast was super early (from 7h30 until 9h30) we usually were asleep, and 8h30 a cleaning lady just got into the room like...??? It was disappointing how early the breakfast ended, so we tried to wake up early one day, but the breakfast was disappointing itself, so don't waste your energy on that either. To end, cleaning is not their strong feature. On our first night we got a big bug in our room, that we killed. I left it on the floor and next day it was still on the floor and... the next day as well. They got in, did the bed, put new towels and that's it. Never actually cleaned the room during our stay. The good side is the staff at the reception, they were very friendly.
