Hotel Alpha

Just returned from a lovely week in Sorrento area. Hotel Alpha was really nice. Our room was one of the less expensive but we were very pleasantly surprised to find it very spacious and modern with it's own private, small, garden. The pool area was never crowded and very clean and there are extensive grounds around the hotel for those who want to sit and chill. Very wide variety of breakfast choices and evening meals were nice too. The hotel was very clean and central to visiting most areas as bus and train services are closed by . Probably one of the most outstanding features of the hotel was the staff, everyone was pleasant, welcoming and most helpful. We only had two negatives...you have to keep your allocated pool towel for a week and, although not the hotels fault, it is located on a busy road and can be quite noisy. We had a great experience.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Misleading and Inaccessible We recently stayed at Hotel Alpha and were extremely disappointed, particularly given the misleading information provided beforehand. We are a couple aged 70 and 65, and my wife has a serious lung disease. Despite informing the hotel in advance, no effort was made to accommodate her condition. Access to the hotel involves many steps from the road, and although a side gate offers level access, it was rarely open – and never when we needed it. The location is poor. It’s far from central Sorrento, with a taxi costing €50 each way. There is no indoor pool, contrary to what we were led to believe. We were told we’d been given an upgraded room, but that was clearly not the case. The so-called "pool view" room had no sea views, and the outlook was uninspiring. The evening and breakfast menus were another letdown – extremely limited and barely varied during our stay. This hotel may suit some, but if you have mobility issues, health concerns, or are looking for convenience and quality service, avoid it. We left feeling misled and disappointed.

Room had major ant problem. Staff refused to take responsibility. Said it was probably because I was messy and had food in my room (which I did not). Also, Didn’t service the room, claimed it was the housekeeping sign was on DND. Specifically set the sign to clean because of the ants. “We have a known problem of kids messing with the signs and turning them around”. Bad service all around. Called in a cleaning lady late evening and made me leave my room while they finally serviced it. Did not discount my room. Only positive is it was close to the beach. Other than that, wouldn’t stay here again
