Hotel Amanek Kanazawa

The rooms at the hotel are really nice. The onsen was awesome - luxurious feel and seldom used. They also have a massage chair in the workout room for 300y that feels great. Service could use improvement. The location is fine but in kind of a seedy neighborhood, there seemed to be a bunch of nightclubs around that gave me creepy red light district vibes. It’s close to the samurai district, but a bit further walk from the garden and other sights.

Good overall. Staff very helpful with all asks. Didn't try breakfast. Rooms decent size. Only issues were the fact the rooms didn't have proper blackout blinds and the beds were rock hard by European standards. That's the same across most Japanese hotels, but we have not acclimatised to it and if your guests can't sleep properly it's not going to enhance the stay. So one star off the overall, but a good hotel.

Great hotel with a good location to nearby sites. All of the main attractions can be seen very very fast. The Onsen was nice, more modern, and fairly quiet since most foreigners don't want to be unclothed. There is also a massage chair in the fitness room (300yen for 15 minutes) that is quite nice. The fitness room looks like it is hardly used. My only criticism is we were doing laundry - it has a 2 hour time limit and so we put the laundry in and set an alarm. We came down immediately with the alarm, maybe 5-10mins after the cycle was done. Instead of putting in the pin ourselves like we expected with our laundry being secure, the staff was taking out our laundry to other guests that wanted to use the machine immediately. If this is the case, more laundry machines are needed. We got a good deal booking this hotel last minute.
