Hotel Angelo Engel

First of all, WOW! I was previously a customer service trainer in the hospitality industry, and I have to say, Hotel Angelo Engel hit it out of the ballpark. The staff knew our names, welcomed us, and even remembered specific dining preferences and details. The food was amazing and freshly house-made. I felt that I was able to experience a wide range of South Tyrol cuisine thanks to the talented chef and kitchen staff. The rooms were exceptionally well-furnished, comfortable, and impeccably clean. Outside, the grounds were welcoming and inviting, especially when the sun was out. I loved the indoor-outdoor pool, and the quaint Finnish sauna on site. The bar offered amazing drinks, and Nicola was amazing especially in crafting the Negroni drink that I had to try. The owner was very present and checked with us several times to inquire about our stay. I also appreciated the fact that the center of St. Ulrich / Ortisei was a quick 5-minute walk, and all of the gondolas / funicular are so close by! If you are looking for the perfect, centralized location for your Dolomites vacation, I highly recommend Hotel Angelo Engel. They set the standard for hospitality, graciousness, and quality!

What a wonderful hotel! We spent three nights in mid-May and found the staff so friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast buffet had so many choices and we also enjoyed the five course dinner with a superb local wine recommendation. I used the sauna and pool after hiking each day, and found it very relaxing. Ortisei is a special place and Hotel Angelo Engel is a gem!

We stayed at Angelo Engel 6 nights in early July, and we are so satisfied, both with the hotel and not at least the very good service. Very good breakfast and we also had dinner three nights, and we can really recommend the 4 course dinner. We also got the best service and Aperols from Nick and his young colleague in the bar. We hope to be back on this excellent hotel, and for more hiking in the beautiful Dolomites.
