The rooms were small, as advertised but the location was perfect right by the main train station. It was easy to get around the city: to catch a bus or a train or a cab. My only problem was the shower was tiny. I could see over the top of the closed doors. Other than that, it was great having breakfast included, a clean room with great plumbing and good Wi-fi.
Not a great experience. Had made a prior reservation but they didn't have my name when I got there. Asked for my passport and made me wait with my bags while they filled in the details (I was tired, would have preferred if they made a copy and did it in their own time). Was asked to pay upfront which I have no issue with but would not let me pay with my phone, wanted a physical card, which I don't mind but the tone was awful. Had to sign a few papers, asked what they were, didn't bother to explain what I was signing. For the 7 euros city tax, they wanted 8 if I pay by card because the card has a commission or something. How is that my problem? Didn't stay since I felt unwelcomed from the moment I arrived.
Disgusted and terrible!!! I checked in to Hotel Aphrodite on July 3rd around 11:00 AM and was shocked by how rude and unprofessional the receptionist was. I felt completely unwelcome from the moment I arrived. For a hotel that claims to be 4-star, this level of service is unacceptable. I’ve raised this concern with the hotel and local tourism authorities in hopes they improve guest service going forward. Avoid at all cost!
