Amazing stay at Similaun. The owner and staff are extremely friendly, the vibe in the hotel is very ‘family & feels like home’. The facilities are good, nice souna. Also the breakfast and dinner are very good, exceeding our expectations. Good reach ability to Sölden and Obergürgl ski areas. We loved our stay here and will definitely come back.
Super hotel The family is very friendly and the two times we have visited over the last year always included delicious meals. The sauna area is new and offers a quiet room to read or sleep. Highly recommended.
This trip was suggested by my son. He suggested we walk up to the site of Ötzi the Iceman's discovery and also make a trip to Bolzano/Bozen. I looked at the map and Vent seemed a good bet. We've been to Austria many times and couldn't resist another trip! As a matter of interest we chose a good day for the Ötzi walk - fairly cool, high clouds and clear. My wife joined us as far as the Martin Busche hutte. I had a paper map and the Kompass app map and had studied the route in as much detail as I could. But actually, this being Austria, everything is signed and even the paths and rocks painted with the Austrian flag as navigational aids. Some even had Ötzi written on the them with an arrow. So the Fundstelle (3210m) was easy to find. Very thrilled to have successfully done the walk. I am used to some UK mountain walking, but nothing in Britain is at this altitude. We were in a junior suite which was huge with a massive balcony. Everything was so comfortable. Unlike in the UK, though common in Europe, there are no room tea/coffee facilities. The food was excellent and we were in a very cosy and traditional restaurant dining area. Being British we didn't use the sauna area. (Ha ha). But it looked luxurious. The staff were very friendly with very good English. The only minor gripe was the towels were a little on the small side. Vent is quiet, a walker's paradise and a delight. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel that takes you to Sölden with its higher level of liveliness.
