Hotel Areca

A great stay near Alicante airport I recently stayed at Hotel Areca for a short stopover, and it exceeded my expectations in many ways. Location The hotel is ideally situated just a few minutes from Alicante airport (bus R10/R11 direction to Elche). Despite its proximity to the airport, the area is quiet and peaceful. Rooms & Comfort The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with a modern bathroom. The soundproofing was excellent — I hardly noticed any noise from outside. The only detail we would love to be changed is the quality of the beds, a bit disappointed on this specific topic. Facilities One of the highlights was the wellness area with a small pool, sauna, and steam room — a real bonus for an airport hotel. The hotel also has a gym and a lovely garden terrace (photo). Restaurant The restaurant offers a good selection of Mediterranean dishes. I had dinner there, and the food was fresh and nicely presented. The breakfast buffet in the morning was varied and generous. Staff The staff were professional, friendly, and helpful throughout my stay. Check-in and check-out were both smooth and quick. Overall A very good value for money, especially considering the level of comfort and facilities. I would definitely stay here again if I need a night near Alicante airport.

Very lovely hotel and perfectly located if one needs to stop over close to Alicante airport. The decor is modern, clean, attractive and very nicely laid out around the lobby area. With lots of space and areas for privacy too. The breakfast was superb. Excellent variety of tasty foods. Highly recommend. The room was lovely. Minimalist and almost provided everything one needed. What was missing was a kettle and mugs. There is an additional charge if you want this. First time I’ve ever come across this and we do like to have a cuppa when we feel like it. We always bring our own tub of coffee with us. The mattresses had a bit too much of a dip in them. They definitely need to be rotated regularly and possibly flipped over. And maybe replaced at some point!! Bathroom was nice and my one big reservation was that there’s no door on the bathroom area. So, when you are in the shower, if someone was to open the door to your room, you are totally exposed!!! And with a glass door with no door frame on the toilet area, it rather lacks privacy. Suits some people, and certainly not for everyone. The breakfast was in a lovely outdoor garden area, which is both pretty and peaceful. Overall, would definitely recommend this hotel and we would go back if we need to be in that area once again.

We picked this hotel because it was close to the airport and we had an early flight the next morning. We were able to park our car on the road outside though the hotel does have a parking garage. Reception was fast and efficient. The room was immaculate but fairly spartan. Bar service was good and reasonably priced. We had an excellent meal in the hotel restaurant where the staff were excellent, helpful, friendly and attentive without being overpowering. Checkout the next morning was brisk and efficient and was followed by a five minute drive to the airport. I will definitely use this hotel again excellent value not overpriced and great access to the airport.
