I had a wonderful stay at Argjiro Hotel. The location is perfect — right in the heart of Gjirokastër, just steps away from the old bazaar and historic landmarks. The hotel itself is beautifully restored, blending traditional charm with modern comfort. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and elegantly decorated, with stunning views of the stone rooftops and surrounding mountains. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, always making sure I had everything I needed. Breakfast was generous and delicious, with a great variety of local flavors to start the day. If you’re visiting Gjirokastër and looking for a place that offers both authenticity and comfort, I highly recommend Argjiro Hotel.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The buffet had a lot of options. Right at the start of old town. I gave it four stars rather than five because when we arrived at 3:30 pm some of the rooms in our group hadn't been cleaned yet and people had to wait. Hire more cleaners!
Considering the price the room we had was tiny and the shower was hard to turn it - and we are not overweight. Also the photos on the website were very misleading as they misrepresented how the hotel and room looked. We've stayed in several other hotels in Albania at a much lower cost.
