Hotel Arpoador

We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Arpoador. The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The breakfast selection was great, with us enjoying the hotel's special AP breakfast which really sets you up for the day. The hotel is situated in a good location, right next to the beach, local restaurants and bars. The rooftop offers amazing views of the beach and is a perfect spot to watch the sunset. The only downside is our room looked onto an inside patio so it was dark. Apart from that, I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Great location and food and service and very affordable for us (though we were thinking in US dollars). Everyone was very very extra helpful and spoke good English and the restaurant in the place was amazing. Gabriel and Jonathan and Marcus were so helpful with our questions and helped us resolve a confusion that exceeded our Portuguese ability with another hotel. What a great place! We will be back!

We enjoyed our stay overall here - especially as we came from a hotel on Copacabana which we were not very satisfied with. Positives: -staff all very friendly including at reception - delicious breakfast dishes - room was clean - great location directly on the beach - nice vibe to have an evening drink here Negatives: - tiny room, felt quite basic more like 3* , no slippers in the room which we usually like .However I did book the most basic room so i would recommend going for a more superior room - every time we came out the lift on the ground floor near the toilet there was not a very pleasant smell - our safe also didn’t work in our room - there was work going on around the rooftop area and pool so we couldn’t really relax while this was going on We also enjoyed a couples massage which was great value for money. I would still recommend this hotel for the area but maybe go for a better room it’s worth paying it.
