Hotel Artis

Two of us stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The staff was very kind and helpful. Room cleaning is every day, which is convenient. The location of the hotel is in a quiet, suburb area with good public transport access, and 40 minutes from the city center.

We stayed at Hotel Artis for four nights 12.06.2025 -16.062025 r(Thursday to Monday), with breakfast included. Unfortunately, our experience was largely disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Breakfast was the biggest letdown. On the first day, we went down a little after 7:00 AM, right after breakfast service started — and yet there was already very little available. Just one type of cheese, one type of cold cut, no rolls, only toast bread. Staff were restocking food extremely slowly. Even worse was our last day, when we arrived at 9:35 AM — the buffet was practically empty: a few slices of cheese and ham. We asked for a tomato and were told "no" because it was "too late." The most absurd part was being asked to leave the dining area at 10:10, even though we were simply finishing our breakfast. I’ve traveled quite a bit and have never experienced anything like this. I fully understand that breakfast ends at 10:00, but basic politeness and guest hospitality should still apply. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the bed was comfortable. However, the air conditioning was a joke — with temperatures over 35°C, the room was unbearably hot at night, and it was impossible to sleep. The location is decent — a quiet area, although a bit far from the city center, so public transport is necessary. In summary, Hotel Artis did not meet our expectations. Poor breakfast, unfriendly treatment of guests, and ineffective air conditioning in the Roman summer made for an unpleasant stay. We will not be returning, and I do not recommend this hotel.

This is definitely not a 4 star hotel as advertised. The hotel rooms are very basic, you’ll be disappointed with the reality vs photos. However, the hotel was clean and beds well made daily. The a/c works well. Again, I found a centipede crawling in the room which explains its level. The breakfast, yes it’s a buffet but not to my taste or that of similar varieties in other hotels. The lady in the kitchen was quite rude but the male stewards were nice. None of them speak English though. We used google translate to communicate. The reception staff were friendly but not consistently. I stayed for 4 days in July 2025 as booked through love holidays. The area is completely residential with nothing but apartments for at least 10mins radius. The supermarket next to the hotel is permanently closed, so nothing available in the area at all for a good radius and is deserted with no one visible at anytime of the day. Even the public transport is minimal and the nearest metro station is 11 mins away with multiple changes needed to go the city Centre. The buses from here do not take you to the Centre. Final advice: please book somewhere else and do the homework before booking as a tourist.
