Our stay at Astoria Playa was absolutely wonderful — truly one of those places that leaves you wanting more. From the moment we arrived, everything felt special. The staff was incredible throughout our stay — warm, professional, and consistently attentive across reception, the restaurant, pool, and bar. You can really feel they care about their guests. The buffet breakfast was delicious and varied, a great way to start the day. Dinner wasn’t quite at the same level but still very good and absolutely worth it for the price. We were especially touched to find dinner waiting for us in the room on our first night, as we arrived late — such a thoughtful gesture. The room was spotless and the balcony was the perfect little spot to relax. We also loved the nightly entertainment — just the right kind of atmosphere, very enjoyable without being overwhelming. Good free parking in the surrounding area. The drinks and food at Kimera are to die for! We genuinely considered extending our stay, and it’s only because of other travel plans that we had to move on. We can’t wait to come back. Highly, highly recommend.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was nice. The room was nice and clean but it lacked clothing storage. Good location Sun beds were comfortable but as you are in pairs it means you are both in the sun or the shade which was slightly annoying when we wanted to be in opposites! Music in the Kimera pool was slightly too loud on some occasions but good level overall. A lovely hotel and staff, would come back!!
Hotel says tap water is not drinkable, but bottled water is not provided. Even having paid for half board we have to buy water at dinners. Seriously? Updating my review to answer. 1. On the contrary to what you say, tap water in Majorca and Alcudia region in particular is considered drinkable since 2020 according to SINAC and ACASA. 2. Establishments in the hospitality sector are legally obligated to offer customers free, non-bottled water as a complementary service, according to Article 18.3, second paragraph, of Law 7/2022. But apart from not breaking the law, there's just simple hospitality rules. Regardless of half board or no board at all, hotel is a "temporary home" for a visitor that should satisfy basic vital needs such as safety, bedding, toilet and of course drinking water. If tap water is drinkable - hotel informs customers about it and suggests to use it. If not - provides an alternative be it filtered, bottled water, coolers, doesn't matter really. If water is officially drinkable, but tastes bad, that's exactly the *hospitality* moment, when a hotel shows if it cares about customers .. or sells them water for €6/litre as you do. Water is not a "drink". Keep selling wine, beer, sangria, sparkling water, juices, tea, coffee ... but provide drinking water to visitors by default, same as you already successfully do at breakfast.
