What a pleasant surprise and enjoyable stay! Great value and close to all the shopping, dining, and metro. Very safe and quiet location with excellent service from the team at this hotel. Air-conditioned rooms with private bathrooms are not available at many European hotels. Located on Strabbe Katner. Thank you to all the fantastic people who work at this hotel for making our stay memorable. We will be back again.
An excellent location in the middle of the old center. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though I was unable to get the heat to turn down. The breakfast had many options, but I wasn't looking for any special things like gluten-free or vegan. There is a small bar in the lobby. One thing to keep in mind is that the bathtubs were very deep and consequently required a very big step to get in for a shower.
The hotel is very centrally located in Vienna’s 1st district, with many attractions and public transport options easily and quickly accessible on foot. As HH Diamond members, we were upgraded by one room category. The room was modern, spacious, and quiet, despite overlooking the pedestrian zone. However, there is room for improvement when it comes to service and breakfast. For instance, we had prepaid our room, but at check-in this was denied, and we were asked to pay again. We then had to request a refund afterwards. At breakfast, the staff member was unaware that our booking included breakfast – and we were not the only ones affected. Several guests had to present their original booking confirmation to prove breakfast was included. We also observed another situation where a guest asked why one of his suitcases had not been delivered to his room. Although the receptionist arranged for the delivery, not a single word of apology was offered. Overall, the service quality does not quite match the standard the hotel aims to project. Breakfast itself was generally good, but the pastries were disappointing – they had nothing to do with Austrian baking tradition and tasted like supermarket products. The fruit also wasn’t fresh, which further detracted from the overall experience. All in all, the hotel is not bad, but for the price, there are several shortcomings.
