Location is very good. While close to the historic city center ~5min also at a 15m walking diatance from the train station. Rooms are ergonomic in many aspects (light switches, sockets , storage spaces etc) but there are doors connecting them that dont soundproof well i.e. I could hear my neighbours TV. Matress was soft but had a small pit in the middle which maybe an issue if your back hurts. Room looked clean and the bathroom was big in comparison to the whole space but the shower area was tight for my size and i m not a "big" fella. Personel was typical and accomodating. Bicycles are rented but no insurance offered anymore which should be updated in the room leaflet. I liked the smart power management that definitely makes the building more economic to run and more sustainable.
This hotel is in an incredible location, but sadly that's where the benefits of staying here ends. It is a 4* hotel that is more like a 3*, it is very dated and has an odd smell, the foyer is nice but again thats about it, the rest of the hotel is in serious need of updating. My room window opened into the parking garage, (see photo) which is very loud with, workmen on chainsaws, the cleaning staff moving laundry in their metal cages, and vehicles. This may be the loudest hotel I've ever stayed at being woken up very late at night and very early in the morning. If not for the above mentioned, then the continual rotation of bus loads of school kids running around the halls at night screaming until 00:30 will also do it. Various reports to the hotel staff but apart from telling the teachers they were powerless. The rooms are good size, but need updating, the walls are paper-thin, and you can hear everyone above, below, and in the corridors. The beds are very comfortable though, and bathroom is good. The most pleasant part of my stay was breakfast in the morning, the hotel put on a good breakfast and the two ladies who worked breakfast were amazing. Very polite, welcoming and really looked after us. Thank you. The reception I found quite rude, I would often walk into the hotel and the receptionist wouldn't even look up from the desk or say hi. No one in particular just across the staff. I was here for work for 2 weeks and thankfully I didn't have to pay for myself. But if I had I would have felt this was not value for money. The hotel is not a 4*, its dated, had an odd smell and although has a comfy bed, you will be kept awake at night and woken early in the morning. It's so so loud. I would not recommend staying here. The location is really the only benefit.
Unfriendly, disrespectful and inattentive staff. No mention of the whole hotel undergoing renovations which caused noise and overall discomfort. You practically had to walk through a construction site to get to your room. We definitely was met with a feeling of contempt because of our young age, despite having paid the same as everyone else for the stay. Would never return…
