Terrible Hotel – Unsafe and Dishonest I arrived at Hotel Atlântico Prime early on May 28. The A/C wasn’t working, and after several requests, they moved me to a room with three beds, dirty sheets, and no towels. In the morning, I was given another room, but the A/C and safe were still not working. The breakfast area was overcrowded with not enough seating for the number of guests. I asked to cancel the rest of my stay, and the receptionist and duty manager agreed to refund the remaining nights through my booking site. I left the hotel, but they never processed the refund and completely ignored the agreement. Also, the area is dangerous at night — drug users loitering outside, no security in sight. Avoid this hotel. Dirty, dishonest, and unsafe.

This hotel needs serious improvement in both service and cleanliness. I had to change rooms three times due to poor conditions. When I finally decided to leave, the receptionist agreed that my remaining balance would be refunded and asked me to write a letter, which I did. Despite doing everything they requested, I’ve yet to receive my money back. Communication was poor, and staff seemed untrained and overwhelmed. I do not recommend this place.

Where to start... First, they never answer the phone. Literally never. My travel agency tried about 10 times and nothing. They called while I was at the hotel reception and I didn't hear anything. I stayed for a long time and never heard the phone ring. Even from the room. You can't call the reception. You have to go downstairs to speak to the receptionist. Two: Check-in is at 2:00 pm without exception. Even though many rooms are already free. There were a lot of people waiting at 2:00 pm. They do this so you get hungry and go eat at their restaurant. If you want to leave your bags, you have to pay. Third: The rooms are old. There is no mini bar, despite having a menu... There is no hairdryer, no coffee or tea maker. The TV doesn't connect to the internet, so you can't watch Netflix or anything online. Third: The WiFi is horrible. Speedtest gives 0.74 Mbps... Like in 1999. If you need it for work, forget about this hotel. Four: The breakfast is poor. In the photos, it looks big, but in reality, there is very little variety compared to other hotels. But there are also worse ones. But don't trust the photos. Five: you have to pay to leave your luggage. It's the first time in 40 years of staying at hotels that I've seen this...Maybe it's a common thing in Rio de Janeiro, I don't know. Six: the location is not the best. Always use Uber at night. That's all I can remember. My advice? There are many more hotels. Forget this one. This is not a 4 stars hotel. Not even a 3 stars. Oh! It was dark in the hallway where my room was. The lights didn't work. And 1 elevator did not work too.
