Hotel Aulivia Opera

I was a little skeptical with the reviews I read. I knew I wanted to get a good sleep, and thought I might not due to the noise outside. I decided to take a chance, and stay here. I am happy I did! I am not sure where these reviews are coming from, but my stay was excellent! I hardly heard anything going on outside. Granted, my room was facing the courtyard, and that might be the reason. But the beds were comfortable, room was quiet, and plenty of restaurants and bars in the area. The hotel has 3 metro stations within 500 meters, which will get you anywhere in town within 35 minutes. Staff were super friendly, and helpful. My French is terrible, and they spoke much better English than I spoke French. One day, I was hungover, and just wanted to stay in. All I did, was put the sign on my door, and I was not disturbed. I would stay here again. If you like to go to bars and restaurants, this place is perfect for you.

This is a little gem. It's very central in Paris. Room wasn't big, but very cosy. Lovely designed bathroom, and all very clean. Elevator available. Best of all was our host Anthony, there both in the evening at check in as well as early morning at checkout. You won't find a more helpful person than Anthony. A little hard to get to by car in rush hour. Parking garage just a few steps away, small supermarket just across the street as well. I will not hesitate to stay here again.

I have booked a room with a flexible tariff, where it clearly states, that the amount will not be charged, only the authorisation payment (not the full amount). However, despite conditions stated, the hotel immediately tried to charge the full amount and, when it did not work, just cancelled my reservation. When I called the hotel, the staff was very rude to me and said the following: "If you do not like this, you can find another hotel". They did not even want to help me at all. Can you believe that?
