Hotel Bad Schachen

I stayed for a conference for three nights. The hotel is fantastic and is in a beautiful location. Enjoyed breakfast and several meals at the hotel. Lots of cool places to walk to within about 20-30 minutes. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Hotel has a large and wonderful garden. İt is near to Bodemsee and it has a pier. You can see lots of art work inside the historical building of the hotel.

Probably, most definitely the most disappointing hotel I've ever been to, and I've been to bad ones before. Rooms: for the price of over 300 euros a night one would expect to have a small fridge, a water kettle, air conditioning. But Instead we got greeted with the hardest beds me and my wife ever slept on. We had shoulder pain after laying on them. The pillows were anything but comfortable and the room was extremely warm (over 30°C), the cleaning staff brought us a small ventilator but it didn't bring anything, it was still simply too warm to sleep comfortably. The bathroom is tiny and very ancient but not in a charming way but rather in an unpractical, ugly way. I really could not say a single good thing about the room. Parking: This is the first time I've been asked to pay for parking fees at a hotel of this price range, especially since they only tell you when you check out and not when you check in. Dishonest, and greedy. Restaurant: Go to literally any restaurant nearby it will taste remarkably better and you'll have friendly service. I had steak which tasted like wet rubber and my wife had Pasta with the the dish being mainly rucola and very little pasta. The breakfast is okay but nothing to write home about. The same menu items every single day and not much variety, very boring. Swimming pool: The swimming Pool was dirty. Neither I or my wife could swim in there. The "beach" is in a desolate state, the lawn was not mowed. The loungers were broken and all of them had bird feces on them, which is a health hazard. Location: The location is good, but I could say the same thing if I lived in a cardbox near the Bodensee. Overall I would advise to be smarter than us and not to book in this old, broken down Hotel.
