Hotel Bahnhof

A most enjoyable stay in a wonderfully located boutique hotel. We (family of 3) stayed for 2 nights (June 2024) & appreciate the service & facilities of this hotel. Located just across the train station, it proved to be a strategic location in exploring lovely Schaffhausen as well as the nearby areas (Rheinfalls, Stein am Rhein among others). We appreciate the generous breakfast spread & the kindness of the service staff Corina. We highly recommend & look forward to a much anticipated return to Schaffhausen.

The breakfast buffet options are even better now than before. Try the quince jelly on buttered bread. The hotel is across the street from the train station, so you can get off the train and go right to your hotel without having to call a taxi or take a bus to the hotel with all your luggage. The air conditioning is a blessing when it's hot out. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean rooms. Grocery store steps away from the front door. It's just on the outer edge of the pedestrian area of the beautiful old town with its painted houses and bay windows. You can walk to the Rhine swimming area (Rhybadi) or to the local fortifications (Munot). In less than an hour's walk, you can be at the Rhinefalls (or take bus or train to get there in less time).

Excellent location, opposite train station and close to old Town. Very friendly and attentive staff. Room was ok regarding size and very clean. Breakfast buffet surprisingly good, great selection of cold and hot meals. We'll definitely come back. There is even a little smoking lounge in the lobby area, so you don't have to stand in the rain while smoking. All in all a great experience.
