Old hotel with no improvements since 80's. Good location but horrible to find a place to park in the streets cos the hotel charge you €15 per day to park inside. In my room the carpets were really dirt, the air conditioner didn't work in any day that I was there and the balcony slide door didn't lock at all so you room is always open. Nevertheless the breakfast is really good and staff is kind.
Stayed 2 nights in the quiet season. Food at the hotel is just a buffet dinner/breakfast and isn't very nice. Room was clean, spacious and I slept well. The hotel is a bit old, could have been in Torquay!
I do not recommend this hotel. Facilities: ?/10 There isn't a cafe or anything open during the day in this hotel (very unusual for a 4 star hotel). Rooms: 7/10. PROS: Perfectly nice with a good balcony. The room and ensuite are both spacious. The wardrobe space is generous. Everything is clean. CONS: The TV could be considered on the small side but it was perfectly adequate. There weren't the usual complimentary items you would expect from a 4-star hotel. Breakfast buffet: 2/10 CONS (sorry, no PROS): The food was tasteless and cheap. The orange juice tasted more like cordial. The placement of the food and condiments is illogical. I definitely don't recommend the breakfast. Check-in: 8/10 The lady who checked us in was very professional and clear with all the information. Reception in general: 3/10 They are not very helpful or keen to go beyond basic reception requirements. They don't seem to care or to be trained in customer relations and satisfaction. They just have no interest (nor have the capacity to feign interest) in guest issues. I had seen people stealing cutlery and a salt shaker in the breakfast buffet restaurant. The girl I spoke to at reception gave me the impression that she wasn't interested. I guess everyone is different but I personally detest people who steal... so I'm more sensitive to it. Later in the day I asked a different receptionist asked about treatments at the spa and she had a look of disdain on her face..... Not impressed! In my opinion, this hotel is receiving it's stars based on the Balneari. If they didn't have that, they would barely earn 3 stars. I don't recommend this hotel.
